Directors Laurie Rowan and Coup de Foudre teamed up with +61 and Telstra on a CG animated campaign for their Big Boot competition, building a tactile and unique world where craft and character performance perfectly come together in service of comedy. Each shot tops the last, the absurdity escalating until the punchline lands somewhere in earth’s orbit. A CG film, the visual style takes inspiration from the handcrafted feel of stop-motion. To do this, the team looked to create a miniature world with bold, satisfying shapes and a tactile quality you can almost feel through the screen.
