That’s the core message of this animated promo video created for EnglishMe – an innovative English-learning app for Czech speakers, developed by the creators of the popular Help for English platform. The goal was to introduce the app to a wider audience, demonstrate its key features with an emphasis on vocabulary, and highlight what makes it unique. Many learners aren't aware that such a comprehensive tool exists, so rather than presenting static screenshots, I built an engaging visual story to showcase its benefits dynamically. The Creative Process & Workflow To show how the app works and why it stands out from other language-learning solutions, I used a structured animation workflow: 1️⃣ Moodboard & Storyboard: First I prepared a moodboard featuring three distinct visual directions. The team chose a vector style, which offered the ideal engaging visual flair. Afterwards I created a storyboard mapping out how to visually break down the app interface step-by-step. 2️⃣ Asset Preparation & Layering (Photoshop & Illustrator): I prepared and reconstructed the app's user interface inside Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, structuring assets into separate layers to allow for fluid UI motion. 3️⃣ UI Animation & Visual Storytelling (After Effects): After importing the vector assets into After Effects, I animated the key elements to visually demonstrate the app’s functionality. The animations highlight interactive exercises, personalized learning paths, and vocabulary-building tools.
